How Beautiful
by david allen goodwin

How beautiful the eagle
in rest or in flight,
and after all day
how beautiful the night.

How beautiful the weather
following a storm,
how beautiful the sunshine
so bright and so warm.

How beautiful the sound
of music to the ear,
and in laughter-not sorrow
how beautiful the tear.

How beautiful the first breath
as a child welcomes life,
how beautiful an old couple
celebrating being man and wife.

How beautiful the moon and stars
floating so free,
add up all these things, and that's
how beautiful you are to me.
