The mess you left behind
by Heather Nichole Diltz

You stood there, your heart so cold and empty,
Crushing my dreams with every word you said.

You once loved me, but now that love is dead.
Too blind to see, too stubborn to face it,
I couldn't let things go on any longer.

All the cheating, lies, and betrayal.
You did nothing but put me through hell.

You left me here to clean up your mess,
never mind the heartache and stress.

One day you'll see, you'll wake up to find,
you'll have nothing but memories, for that boy is mine.
You've walked away from him for the very last time.

So go on, live your new life.
I hope she's worth all you've left behind.

Forget the memories of you and I,
for your feelings then could have only been lies.

So, take a deep breath and forget the family you left,
We don't exist in your heart or mind.

We'll move on to a better life,
one without you and all your hurtful lies.
