lover in disguise
by anthony malgapo ibay

A secret is what I always keep,
To the bottom of my heart it lies.
I know not how to say or what to do,
To know that it is true, tears always fall.

My heart aches each time I reminisce,
The past is done and pain is all that's left.
My mask will soon fade away,
The reality inside will be revealed.

To convey the truth I cannot do,
Yet, happiness still shows upon my face.
To the grave I shall keep,
Yet, my words are always meek.

Death will come someday,
The past returns and now I cry.
Dealing with this- now comes the price.
The screams I made, still unheard.

In my heart I always shout,
Maybe in the heavens you can hear.
In my mind always convey the truth,
Maybe when we meet there you shall see.
