I miss those summer days...
by Anna Marie Partridge
I miss that old laugh you had, I can feel it when I cry,
I miss the smell of your jacket, every time you passed by.
I miss the way you say I love you, as you blow me a kiss,
in the hall of an empty school, or in the cold breezy night.
I miss you wanting to walk me home, and stay with me when I cry.
I miss you wanting to hold me, keeping me safe and out of danger
even if it wasn?t nearby.
I miss going places with you, and having you make them fun,
I miss you running after me, and telling me come on.
I miss the fact that we were so close, like we had a bond
sharing life, and all its secrets just going on and on.
There was never any end, to what we could do,
or how much fun there was, in me and you.
Do you remember when times got rough? You held me tight
and never gave up.
I miss that old saying of yours, that always brought me up
and when we used to argue, and laugh when we finally gave up.
Realizing that we truly do love each other and make up with a kiss.
Now it's all different, it's almost not realistic.
I felt things with you, that I never thought I could feel,
being with you, makes me so happy, even when it's hard to tell.
The only thing holding us back, from having any fun
is a little thing I have with me, it makes me want to have a gun.
Depression and anger, I can't seem to throw away,
But when you help me, it eliminates the pain.
I'm hoping one day that the day will come,
that we will get married, have kids, and settle down.
I'm tired of living in my past,
I want to live for today.
I want to erase the memories, that you have stowed away already.
I miss the fact, that you never wanted anyone else
and that the love you felt for me,
was the first time you?ve really felt that way for anyone at all.
I want to tell you, that I feel the same
I want to dance with you, in the cold wet rain.
I know you love me, can't we give it another try?
I think true love..
Has just passed the stars, in the moonlight sky
saying, this one is perfect, it's at the right time.
So what do you say?
Shall we try?
Like we did, in the summertime...
