My Heart
by N H Sudden

Tethered to the world I once knew,
with strands of love, like diamonds strong and true.

Down into a black hole that is the end,
this world is doomed, but the chain does not bend.

Refusing to break, unable to tear asunder,
how long can it hold out, I wonder, I wonder.

Piece by piece this world is torn away,
until the very end, that diamond chain will stay...

The last rock breaks free into the void- forever,
but the coldness of space, this heart cannot weather.
