A Single Tear
by Angelene Rose
You say you're tired of needing me,
That I don't give enough so you're leaving me?
We both promised changes, both for ages...
Nothing turns around...
promises brought down
Now you?re letting go,
I don't ask because I know.
This tear is for all your smiles?
Everyday you made my life worth while.
I saw your face each morning, each night,
A tear for every time you gave my blindness sight.
It's all for the best, I know,
Yet, it still saddens me to see you go.
Just let me tell you this,
I won't cry a river, or hold back bliss
We've been through the good, the bad,
the rough, the easy, the happy, the sad.
I will never forget you, although
I won't allow myself to sit and miss you.
Please, don't say I never cried
because a single tear still lives in my eye.
