Once Upon A Time
by Beverlie Jerao Jalmasco
I had been dancing with an angel in the pale moonlight
The ticking of the clock
Testifies how long i had been dancing with him
I can't make myself stop
As i stare at him,
I was hypnotized by his genteel thoughts,
Lambent eyes, and sweet smiles
The angel gets nearer to me;
He was trembling, for he knows
That loving me is like turning his back
To everything he got
As he unveiled me, my heart was pounding with fears
For i also know that he will be sacrificing
for something in which i am the main reason.
It's impossible to be out of his arms now.
My mind was telling me to go
And leave him while he's dreaming
For him to be able to continue what he was doing.
But my heart was begging,
Saying " i want my angel forever."
I was shedding tears while i watched my angel
Making myself ready, i leave a note for him,
And only for him
In this, he will know what really love is
LOVE IS SACRIFICING.
When i was about to lock the door
I heard my angel shouting,
Saying "please don't go."
He ran for me and hugged me for a while,
Uttering " i sacrificed everything and myself to you,
why can't you?" I was awakened by a slap for the truth back then.
Time started to pass and pass away...
As i watched the beautiful moonlight with my angel
I told myself, "goodbye to the pale moonlight
That happened once upon a time."
