My feelings
by Valerie Michelle Alhusaini

When all words have been spoken
And still your heart tends to be broken.
You hear all around you laughter and happiness
But why is it you that feel like you don't matter?

Smiles and giggles, holding and touching
But you aren?t being loved.
A phone call to say 'hello' and 'good-bye'
What is the purpose of it all?
When he didn?t even really want to make the call?

He smiles at you just to make you think he cares
But in reality it is you who knows the truth.
It?s all an act 'cause you know that
The years together were all fake.

But you can?t explain your feelings
Without being judged or called crazy-
But he will never know that you are really amazing.

His eyes stare but not at me- it's ok, I say to myself,
One day he will- and by that time it will be too late,
For he is the one who chose my fate.

So, I say to myself, ?Wake up with a smile
and love yourself first because?
That is what?s the most important.?
How can someone else love you
When you don't even love yourself?
