Fly Away Angel
by Renee Lynn Gill

Once I knew an angel,
He was tall, lean and sweet,
And he smelled of all things summer,
As I knelt down at his feet.

Not a single word was spoken
As he captured my broken heart.
Willing I surrendered all inside me
Which was damaged, for he offered a new start.

This angel had eyes of the clearest blue skies,
Lips that begged to be kissed,
A body that set my spirit on fire-
He wishes were hard to resist.

I quivered like a leaf in the wind
When he quietly sat at my side.
I don't know where I stop or where we begin
By my very faith in him I did abide.

My angel was larger than life to me
All fear and pain had passed
In his arms I found my peace
My soul was freed and I'd come home at last.

Just like every angel
He needed to fly on silver wing to heaven above
A kiss upon his lucious lips, and a prayer for him
I sent him off with neverending love.
