YOU
by Avery  Robertson

I looked for my friend,
but him I could not see.
I looked for love,
but knew it wasn't meant to be.
I looked for life,
one that was completely free,
but it wasn't til' I looked for my soul,
that I found the other three.

So, now and again,
beyond pain and grief,
beyond wave and reef,
I look up into that blue.
For in everything I needed,
wanted and prayed for,
I hoped most that
I would be lucky
to have just you.
