My Heaven
by Holli Christina Swafford

I see you across this crowded space.
I watch you move, I see you breathe.
Then you look...
and my heart awakens.

My emotions coil around me
until I am sure you can see
the sparkling sheath
of my joy surrounding me.

I approach you
and we touch.
Euphoria enters...
My being tingles from you.
Your eyes see into my soul
(see my love?)
You smile and my core melts.
I am inside my personal reverie.

The scent of you takes me so high
I am afraid
of falling
   suddenly...
   unknowingly...
   again.
My heart shatters,
my senses fail to reason.

Here I am...
held in your menagerie.
Not like a human
but an animal.

My life clasped between your hands;
You hold it.
  My happiness...
  my trust...
  my sanity...

Please,
grasp me strong
and firm.
I see our heaven
is worth the fall...
