I Write For You Still
by Terry-Lynn Johnson
If I may, I will write for you still...
As you have remained close in my thought
Since our paths have crossed.
If I may, I will write for you...
with the sensitive soul of one
who has set both faith and fears
down to lost rhyme.
Wandering through the wintry blast
with hopes and dreams which few
would dare
Looking for one in the empty room
to share
Looking for one who cares
To seal the pain from the wintry draft
Which chills the air.
So, if I may, I will write for you...
As I wander through master lines
of solace and sorrow,
of hope and joy,
...of destiny.
Ah, to be able to write as much.
To hope and to dare.
If I may, I will write for you, still...
