Trees
by Dana   Dirkintis

How many times have I dreamt of you? I often wonder why,
As I fall asleep and look to the moonlight sky.
Are you in my dreams? I think I do not know.
I think to myself, close my eyes, and wait for you to show.

You appear when the time is right,
When it's just you and me- in the middle of the night.
I take your hand, you take mine and off we run
To a secret place... and my dream has begun.

You spoke some words and it was time to go.
I asked for one more minute and the sun began to show.
I could see it and in a few seconds through the trees it appeared.
You grabbed my hand, kissed me on the cheek, and said, "Goodnight, dear."

I woke the next morning with a feeling of delight,
because, again, you were in my dreams last night.
