Piano Boy
by   silent

Your fluid fingers spill
From one white key to the next
Smoothly stroking each chord
Until it sings in ecstasy.

Your head nods.
You are in the world of music
And I can only look in through the gate
Silent in awe and desire.

You never pause,
Never falter,
Your fingers are part of the piano
And your whole body is pure rhythm.

I wish that one day
I could get the courage
To take a risk and tell you
The thoughts that break my silent reverence
And slither under the slammed doors into my mind
While I?m hypnotized by your dancing hands.

Maybe, just maybe,
You?d nod your dark head at me
And take those cool long fingers
And wrap them around my own.
Slip your fingertip down my spine.
Please don?t hurt me.
Maybe, just maybe,
You could make music out of me.
