Tears in Heaven
by Laurie Ann Lane

I fell down on my knees
My heart was killing me
The pain was overbearing
My soul began to bleed
And as I cried
It started to rain
And I knew even Heaven
Felt my pain

Steady, the drops fell
From my eyes
And the lightning lit up the sky
The thunder sounded more like moans
In a fetal position
Consumed with groans
I lay in a puddle of agony
Was drenched in self pity

I remained there for the rest of the night
For losing you took all my might
And even Heaven knew how I felt
For together we both cried
And still today my soul sheds tears
Even though my eyes are dry...
