Darkness
by Jason  Molinary

When I woke up this morning
The sun, it was black
The flowers had withered
And the birds turned to bats

My fruits were all lemons
My sugar was bad
I couldn't believe it
I couldn't react

I walked through the garden
And saw it was dead
No roses were blooming
All cactus, instead

Remember the moon
Down by the shed
Once it was blue
...now it is red
