Remember Me
by Goldie Sue Ford

You broke my heart,
You lied to me.
Was it a game you played,
to idle away your time?
How hard you are.
But when it snows,
Remember me...
Remember me.

Cherry blossoms and pots of tea,
I danced for you, I played your song.
You stole my heart.
But when it snows,
Remember me...
Remember me.

Maple leaves, all soft and red,
Are now just dust blown by the wind.
Poems written in flowing ink,
Paper cracked with age.
But when it snows,
Remember me...
Remember me.

Long quiet nights, filled with whispers of love,
Sighs of longing, promises not kept,
Your voice in my ear.
But when it snows,
Remember me...
Remember me.

An aching heart, memories still fresh.
Years gone by, cannot erase,
Places touched so deep inside,
Forever scarred, never healed.
But when it snows,
You remember me... You Remember Me.
