Further
by   Angelique

And we slip further into the abyss
No catch, no foothold
nothing left to find a grip
Falling, falling
With wretched screaming
All cat-calling
All demeaning
There is nothing left here worth redeeming
I have tried.
Scratched out my eyes for want to see
A way clear
What reflects in this crippled view
Gives no vision, no compulsion to remain
I am rightly, justly, overwroughtly through
And here I choose to drown
No one around to witness the demise of
this almost empty, hope-lost soul
no longer whole, slipping further into this-
the dark, the dank, emotionless
My abyss.
