The Circle Complete
by Avery  Robertson

I touched upon a silver ring,
that took me round several swings
of ups and downs in celestial stars
to where you'd been, to where you are.

I followed down the milky way,
a place built in my heart to play.
There was this force built of sand and sea,
it gave, then took my love from me.

So, while love passes into the sun's golden glow,
where fireflies disappear and go
into the night that touched on dragonfly wings,
It's there I fall under our moon and sadly sing.

When the summer's heat has turned to snow,
and the coldness of your heart tells me to go,
I will walk down the garden path so I might die,
for my time is up and this soul must fly,

Away, away it will gladly rise,
into a heaven the colour of his eyes,
to have loved him for a short time is all I asked,
this life complete, the circle spins, our love's alive in the past.
