Heart Turned Blue
by Shaun Jason Smith

The lights are shining bright in the middle of the road
The shadows of the night direct you where to go
You're asking questions to the bright starry sky
You're asking it the question, that?s the question, "why?"
You want to understand why it happened to you
You need to know... why your heart turned blue.

When the morning comes, the bright sky turns cold
You know your heart is worth it's weight in gold
You cannot seem to piece your puzzle together
Why did you think that your love would last forever?
It's something unpredictable; it could never be true
That?s why... your heart turned blue.

So, as the sun breaks through in mid-afternoon
You start to whistle your own love-sick tune
You sit on a bench and you wonder "why"
And as you think, you begin to cry
You've searched your heart and soul for the fear in you
That?s the reason why your heart... turned blue.
