The Prism of the Night
by Cary W. Tucker
She was a prism of the night
Of rainbows cast from moonlit skies,
And through the snowfall, cold and white,
Her beauty made red roses rise
To bloom amid the winter light
And warm the fire of weary eyes.
By stunning gown or splendid dress,
Each proudly sewn with skill and grace,
Her inner charm did she express,
Adorned with ribbons, flowers, and lace,
While bonnet, bow, and silken tress
Surround her kind and lovely face.
Within that gown and through that snow,
So playful, yet, so elegant,
The threads that shine, the buds that grow,
The spectrum of her warmth present,
While mirth and graceful dance bestow
Her gift of sweet red roses scent.
