"I love you" he whispered, as his fingers combed through her hair
The dull candle light shined, in both of their eyes
His lips looking so soft
His words sounding so faithful

"You love me!" I cried..."You love me!"
His hard eyes glared into the back of my head
As he called after me...

"Wait!"
"I can explain!"
