Never

By: Victoria Anne Wolf Eila

The fruit that befalls my lover's lips,
Will never be as sweet as my lover's kiss.
The bird that sings it's song into my lover's ears
Will never sound as sweet as my lover's laugh.

Never shall a sunrise shine
As bright as my lover's smile.
Never shall a midnight’s tear fall,
As innocent as my lover's tear.

The mountain waters that soothe my lover's strife
Will never be as pure as my lover's heart.
The towering trees that shelter my lover's home,
Will never be as strong as my lovers self.

Never shall a chain or rope,
hold as strong as my lover's love for me.
Never shall a roaring fire keep as long,
as my lover's warmth by my side...
