Beware !

By: Robert Louis Arehart

There was a lass so young and fair
--so like a child to me.
But old in ways I never knew
of Eve's own mystery.

She charmed and pled, with lover's eyes
--the guile was plain to see.
A blind old fool - I couldn't stop
--and damned to hell, I'll be!

Beware the wiles of tempting smiles
whose consequence is key.
--to all the falls of witless males
when love is offered free.

If just one soul can now be led
by words here writ in plea
--away from evil's tempting path
THIS soul can then be free!
