Low Rider
by James Christopher Roberts

Down so low,
Can't go any lower.
If I can't stop the tears,
I'll go mad.

Lured in again
By love's honey
Only to see that at
The bottom is a spider,
And I, the fly, am her meal.

Wish this pain would end.
Wish I was home again.
Wish and wish but it
Does no good but give me
False hope.

This world is a cruel
Place, made that way
By cruel people.

Sometimes they don't care,
Other times they wish you
were not there.

It's always the same,
Be there, just stay
out of her hair.
