That's The Way Love Goes

By: Charles Henry Holloway

Let me get that door for you as we enter into the car,
It’s been two years, I didn’t think we’d make it this far.
Through all the ups and downs, all the sleepless nights,
Still your eyes, yours lips, your beauty is all out of sight.
Tell me God what did I do to deserve one of your Angels from above,
Now my life is complete now I know true Love.
Tonight let me make you dinner by candlelight
I’ll play some music, set the table the mood is just right.
Can you hear the rain and the thunder?
What is that fragrance you are wearing, I do wonder.
I’m caught up in this moment with you,
We’re married now I can make love the way I dreamed to.
The lights are dim the wine is on ice,
I love you, Sweetie, did I mention that you look very nice.
Can you feel my heart beat as my body presses against yours?
It seemed only yesterday when I carried you through these doors.
I remember when we first met, I didn’t know what to say.
You were so beautiful and you still are, even to this day.
This is the ingredient to make love and it shows.
I know now you know...
That's The Way Love Goes.
