A Letter & a Knife
A little girl got home and looked into the mirror,
And when she did, she saw sadness, hate and fear.
She lay down and started to cry,
And thought to herself, “Why live? WHY?”
The salty wet tears soaked through her own bed.
Instead of living, she would rather be dead.
She began writing her goodbye letter,
Starting it off with “Being dead would be a lot better.”
She wrote goodbye to her family and her very best friend,
Saying, no matter what, they’d be friends till the end.
She didn’t want to live anymore.
With that thought, crying, she fell to the floor.
She put the knife up to her wrist,
And ever so tightly, she clenched her shaking fist.
She sobbed so hard as she dug the knife into her skin,
And when she saw her deep red blood, she began to grin.
“I’m so glad this is all over,” she thought.
“I’m so tired of being someone I’m not!”
And just like that, she ended her life,
With nothing in her hand but a letter and a knife.
