Friendship's Promise

soft sunlight
slowly touching
the darkness
of my pupils

you shimmer in
sapphire and crystal
blended in yellow
creating
my green iris

my pupils
though dark
as night
envision your
glimmering sunlit
promise of friendship
through a
summer smile

...as you fly
the promise
my eyelids blink
to the rhythm
of your heart
