My New Father
Fathers are not easy to find,
Nor are ones that are so kind.
I thought I had a father, until he turned untrue.
So as I walked my mystified path, I seem to have come back to you.
You have comforted me in times of need,
And showed me what a father really should be.
I love the way you make me laugh, and the fact you know what to say.
Doesn't matter if I'm sad or mad, you can always make my day.
He said he'd be there.
He said that he cared...
But it just turned out to be a big lie
Like everything else, so our love has finally died.
Now you said that you'd be there,
And you said that you do care.
And I know that it's nothing but true,
Because I can always count on you.
I wish it was true, that you really were my dad,
Because the fact that you're not REALLY makes me sad.
But that's okay, in my eyes you are, and always will be, too.
So don't you ever doubt my love, because I truly do love you!!
