Stars
by Dustin Manabu Kagawa

At night I gaze upon the stars
I am amazed at how they truly are-
they seem so close yet so far
I look upon them for my answers-
but I don't see a sagittarius nor a cancer,
nor a taurus, leo, or aries;
all I see is your beauty and the richness it carries-
carries through my heart, carries through my soul
I look as I watch all that you have stolen-
stolen me from my misery and torture
and replaced it with moments which I will forever adore
I look up at the stars with eyes wide
with amazement at what I am feeling inside-
emotions moving faster than light;
then I look at the stars with one question tonight
asking them for help, asking them for insight
on these feelings I have towards one
one who can't be called a star nor a sun
for you, you are truly beyond that
for you are my universe and nobody can top that
