Trade
by Dustin Manabu Kagawa

I would trade my sight
just to be with you for one night;
I would trade my hearing
just to see you in the clearing;
I would trade my ability to smell
for one moment with you-from which I will forever dwell;
In fact, I would trade it all:
my ability to see, hear, smell, and taste
for your love-without it my life's a waste;
I would trade my freedom of choice
just to hear your blessed voice;
I would trade all of my cash
if you were here to heal my heart's open gash;
I would trade my 15 years of life
just to have you spread your love with my knife;
I would trade my eternity
just to have your love in my heart's community;
I would trade anything beyond imagination
just for you and I to have a conversation;
I would trade my all
because without you everything seems ever too small;
With you a reality of dreams is made
...so I ask of you can we trade?
