On Valentine's Day
I waited for you for an hour
You never showed
I thought you stood me up
You never did that to me in the past.
I gave you five more minutes
When I left you FINALLY showed up
We went in to eat
We were having such a good time.
As we were about to leave
The waiter brought out flowers and music
I saw you get on your knee
I didn’t know what you were doing.
I thought you were picking something up
And then you grabbed my hand and said:
"I love you. You are my world,
and I would rather be dead than be without you.
Will you MARRY me?"
My breath caught in my throat
I didn’t know what to say
I was breathless.
I started to cry and I said, "YES!"
Other people started clapping
I couldn’t say anything
I was speechless.
