I'm starting to feel like you-
strange and confused.

Such a short time ago
I was lost and alone,
now I have direction and hope.

As I think of
taking a chance with you,
when I cannot be sure
of a 'forever,'
my heart beats fast and
my thoughts reel.

You are so much of what I want,
but with such pain in my past,
I try to push the memories to where
they cannot hurt me.

Knowing how much
I can love you,
ease your pain as
you eased mine,
I am still scared,
but I find I am ready
for our new love.
