Never Leaving
I know in my heart one day you shall be with our Lord,
The one who came to save us so long ago.
I know I'm lucky to have you as a brother and I love you so,
So I'm writing you this poem to forever hold.
I don't want to think about you leaving me right now,
But incase it is today, I'm writing this down.
My friends say that when you leave you'll be in a better place,
But instead of totally leaving, in my heart is where you'll stay.
I'll never forget you or the things you've done,
Like bringing your joy and laughter to everyone.
Now the doctors are saying it could be anyday,
When Our Lord, Jesus Christ, comes to take you away.
Promise me one thing, that you'll never forget me.
Even when you are gone, I'll always keep you in my heart and my dreams.
