Vision
You have asked that explanations be made for whom I speak.
In form and appearance she does not show toward you.
In what madness am I taken?
Can there be none of fairer grace?
Is there none more pleasing to the eye?
It is, perhaps, by my own indulgence
that she becomes, often times, more beauteous than the last?
She may not inspire a sculpture or the artist's painted vision
and yet, in these all to brief words she does equal Aphrodite.
I offer these few words as willing sacrifice to her splendour.
I do not expect you to make your offerings at the same altar
but allow me my devotions.
Then, I too, will come to respect yours.
