Not just the ones we can't see

She's been there since the beginning
She was there when I was sick as a little kid
And still is now
She was there to kiss away the pain when I got hurt
She was there to comfort me when I was scared
She was there to listen when no one else would
She has seen it all, between Julie, David, & Me
From the days when she could've cracked
To the days when she was proud to say, "That's My Boy!"
Yeah, Mom, I heard you say it, all those times
You've loved me when it was kind of hard to love me
And I know there have been some pretty rough times
You know everyone thanks their mom all the time
But I'm also promising you
That I will try to be the son you deserve
Now I know the son you deserve I can never live up to
But I will sure try
I've said it earlier, but I've got to say it again
You have been there since this all started
I know that chances are you won't be there til the end
I mean, let's face it, I'm not a little kid anymore
I have to face death, because it's a part of life
But I do know that even when I can't see you
You will always be there in my heart
Wherever I go in life
I know that you will be with me always
And I will always have you in my mind and heart
I also know that wherever you may be
However far we may be apart
May it be 2 states, 2 hours, or from heaven to earth
You'll be watching over me
