Secretly

By: Daphne Ellen Rankin

Kissing in a hidden place
So no one can see your face.
Holding hands on the sly.
Sometimes I wonder why?
We must meet like this.
But, when we're apart I miss You.
Why does it have to be this way?
Can't you tell her, can't you say,
"I love someone other than you"
Get up the courage... Please do.

But, still you have to hide with me
So no one else will see.
Maybe, someday, she'll let you go.
But, why should she.... if she doesn't know.
Or maybe someday I'll get smart,
Before you upset this apple cart.
Until then, I'll hide with you,
Meeting in secret, as we always do.
Kissing in a hiding place,
So no one can see your face.
