I'm Sorry

By: Lauren Michelle Jepson

I have betrayed my greatest love
And have felt much despair
As the creatures from above
Are helping in repair
"I'm sorry"

I have said those two words to him
About a million times and again
Begging for his forgiveness
It seems I shall never win
As I state again, "I'm sorry"

He claims that he has forgiven
And that he still cares for me
Yet he always asks why I did it
When it could have always just been we
And for that, "I'm sorry"

Why did I ever get involved with the other?
Why did I hurt my one true love?
Was it for fear of being left again?
Oh God, why did it ever begin?
For not trusting you, "I'm sorry"

I love him with all my heart
When apart I feel I should cry
I pray to God we never part
If he were to leave me, I would simply die
If I'm caring too much, "I'm sorry"

He's my sun, my moon, and my stars
He makes me smile, laugh, and cry
When together, it feels the world could be ours
It's purely magic, like a high
When we're apart, "I'm sorry"

So for what I've done in the past, I'm sorry
I love you dearly and unconditionally
But please, please, never leave me
Because without you I could never be
Please know, "I'm sorry"

It feels like you are the forbidden
Yet, I will always love you, Jordan
And for all of these things that I've put you through
You're still around...

You simply amaze me
You ARE my one, true love
I will love you always and forever
And know that I am truly sorry
