The Answer

By: Arthur Douglas Cloninger

When the golden hues of sunset
Sink into the sea,
I think of one more fair than this
Who waits back home for me.

And when the moon in silvery light
Comes to light the darkened sky,
I think of how I love her so
And ask myself the reason 'why?'

The answer comes resounding back
As if from the ghostly moon.
The reason why I love her so?
I love her 'cause she's you!
