confusion sets in

By: Kathy

The dawning of love is a new baby just birthed
an orphan without a mother or father
no instructions, only people who give unsolicited advice
no place to go, with endless possibilities of where to end up
sweet, innocent, and still so pure
too trusting, and too dependent
too young to cause pain...
... and somehow,
somewhere...
someone is hurting

this baby grows
soon becoming adult
not so sweet, and not so innocent
no longer trusting,
dependence no longer wanted
as a child comes into the world
... and somehow,
somewhere...
someone is hurting

the love of two which started so new,
now has grown old and dependent once again
dependent of someone unknown
someone who cares only for a paycheck at the end of the week
... and somehow,
somewhere...
the baby is hurting
