She searches for one "special" man
for the approval he'll give, she does long
She feels the problem's within her
that she's always the one in the wrong
The "man of her dreams" doesn't want what she offers
and rejects her again and again
She can't seem to grasp the plain, simple fact
that the problem's not her but her "men"
She pictures him the way she would like him
to change, the way he should act
but still he withdraws from her constant affections
and she doesn't know how to react
The harder she tries to mold who he is
into something she wants him to be
The harder he struggles to cut all ties
to leave her behind and break free
She is a woman who loves too much
though it's hard to face, she must try
Loving the wrong man, she's fooling herself
living her life in a lie
The advice I gave her I try to live by and
is not as hard as may seem
Be true to yourself, don't hide from your feelings,
build your self-esteem
You're the best friend you have, learn to love who you are
and hold on to your dreams
