Still

By: Krystina Marie Hodge

I walked in not knowing my weakness
walked in thinking I was strong
but just to come realize I was wrong
you kept me from danger
kept me from harm
you tried to keep my safe in your arms
I never knew why death, slowly
but surely, had caught my eye
blood dripping drop by drop
descending on my window top
the sound of blood released me
and somehow without it I could no longer be free
out of the window I thought to leap
and just then I fell on my knees
I never knew why death, slowly
but surely, had caught my eye
as nice as can be
knowing how sick I was, you still loved me
