Sweet 16

By: Thomas William Adams

There once was a girl,
She looked like no other,
She was in a class all her own,
The more I saw of her,
The more I wanted to see,
The closer I got,
The closer I wanted to get,
At first glance I knew,
She was too good to be true,
Only one little problem you see,
She is a little too young for me,
I know she will make some guy real happy,
It's a shame it can't be me,
If only she was sixteen,
The fun we could have,
I only hope when she turns of age,
Everybody will be around to see,
How happy one girl can be,
By being with someone like me,
It won't be long before she turns Sweet Sixteen,
I only hope by then it won't be too late,
For her and me, and everyone to see,
Just how happy one girl can be.
