I Fashioned Seagulls

By: Wrigley

This weathered pier has mothered seasons
from picturesque, to wind-blown castles;
She's learned the pattern of my heart
and drank the stain of changing tears.

When ripples broke, like thoughts embossed,
I looked and there you stood
Beguilling what I thought was charm;
you changed all I knew.

When launching was a moment's wisp
where boats and dreams float,
I fashioned seagull's mastered art,
unfurling in my wings.
