She
As she looks out to her future,
The sweet smelling breeze
Caresses the silky strands of her hair,
Gently twisting it through invisible fingers
As only a lover could.
Tears carrying the sadness of her soul
Gently flow from the corners of azure eyes.
Down, down, they flow, ever so gently
Leaving a feathery trail of damp kisses
On her creamy velvet cheeks.
She sighs,
And all around her, the first breath
Of life envies her sweetness.
Far below her the waves hammer the rocks
Each trying to outdo the other
In the hope She will look their way.
The snow white and ebony black birds of the air
Spread their wings and soar above her
Telling all of their love for her.
A single tear,
Sparkling more than the finest diamond
Falls from her cheek.
An eternity passes as it seems to
Flutter and dance and come to rest
Upon a bed of green velvet.
A tiny, pale pink bud blossoms immediately,
Releasing an exquisite perfume that gently rises.
She looks down,
And inhales the intoxicating scent
That arose from a single tear.
She smiles.
The sun explodes into the sky with
All the beauty that Mother Nature has
And offers it to her in gratitude for her smile.
The lonely sadness in those
Beautiful eyes has left.
It could not bear to be
Among all the beauty and sweetness
Of Mother Nature's daughter, Spring.
