Remember Me

By: Laura J Wilson

Remember me, my children
as your creator,
as your friend.
Carry out my ways and yours,
forever, 'til the end.

Remember me, dad,
as your princess,
as your number one.
Never love me any less,
no matter what I've done.

Remember me, mom,
as your pride,
as your own.
And when I have died,
smile instead of bemoan.

Remember me, please,
with hope and never shame.
Think of me with dignity
and never disrespect my name.

Now to set my spirit free,
so that I may always live
mix my ashes with the soil of an apple tree
then watch it grow and give.

This is my one request,
and this is all I ask.
Please try and do your best,
to carry out this simple task.

Remember my 'tee hee'
and think always of my smile.
Then when you really miss me,
remember, you'll see me in a while.

When you think you can't go on
remember, you will endeavor.
Because even when I'm gone...
...Family Love Is Forever.
